Welcome to the Radnor YFC website. On our website you will find information on all the clubs within the federation, and what we do in Radnor.
YFC's are open to all young people, whether from an agricultural background or not aged between 10-26 years. There's a massive range of activities to take part in, ranging from: drama, sport, public speaking, stockjudging,training,quizzes and socialising to name but a few, there really is something for everyone.

Hedging Competition
The first hedging competition was held at Dolswydd, Penybont today (Sunday 28th Feb) and a good day was had by all. The winners were Barry Evans and Bleddyn Pugh from Rhayader. Prizes were kindly donated by Wye Valley Farmers, Rhayader YFC and Rhayader ATB. Photos can be found on the photos page.

Senior Member of the Year - Rules
RADNOR FEDERATION OF YOUNG FARMERS’ CLUBS
“YFC Senior Member of the Year”
R U L E S
1. DATE & VENUE – 19th March 2010 at Llandrindod Wells High School
2. ELIGIBILITY - The competitor must be 26 years or under on 1 September 2009 and a full member of a Club affiliated to the NFYFC.
The competitor will be required to produce on the day of the competition their current and signed Membership Card, with suitable photo-ID, or a fine of £5 will be imposed for non-production.
3. PROCEDURE
PART 1 Two weeks prior to the competition, competitors will be required to complete a form provided, which will show details of their YFC activities and submit to the YFC Office. (Special emphasis should be placed on their involvement at Club level).
PART 2 Competitors will be interviewed by a panel of Judges, in an informal atmosphere.
4. OBJECTIVES - The objective of the competition is to select a member who has shown that they are involved in all aspects of the YFC Movement. Judges will be looking for:-
Involvement at club level for period of membership
Overall YFC involvement (i.e. club, county or national)
Specific involvement in activities in previous 12 months (conservation, competitions, recruitment, programming, charity, sport, club officer)
General commitment to YFC - awareness of fellow members’ interests in YFC and objective view of the future of the Movement

Junior Member of the Year rules

Junior “YFC Member of the Year”
R U L E S
1. DATE & VENUE – 19th March 2010 at Llandrindod Wells High School
2. ELIGIBILITY - The competitor must be 16 years of age or under on 1 September 2009 and a full member of a Club affiliated to the NFYFC. The competitor will be required to produce on the evening of the competition their current and signed Membership Card, with suitable photo-ID, or a fine of £5 will be imposed.
3. PROCEDURE
PART 1 - PORTFOLIO
Two weeks prior to the Final, The portfolio should be a maximum of 15 sides of A4 – one
page per month depicting their involvement in YFC over the previous twelve months, plus 3
extra pages for their own use , which will show details of their YFC activities at all levels.
The portfolio to include:-
Name, address, age and Club
Background information
Activities within YFC over previous 12 months
School/career aspirations
Activities outside YFC
Photos, collage, drawings and any other medium, may be used within the portfolio
The portfolio will be marked on presentation and content and should raise questions for interview.
PART 2 - INTERVIEW
The Judges, in an informal atmosphere, will interview competitors (there will be no actual interview on a stage). The interview will involve the following points:-
a) Activities over previous twelve months (Club, County, Personal, Team) and should include such activities as Show/Rally entries, variety of competitions, (public speaking, quiz, cookery), sports, skills training, Club Officer post and training, attendance at Club meetings and events, community involvement and activities, fund raising.
b) Knowledge of YFC, e.g. what are the current issues in YFC for young people.
c) General enthusiasm
d) Presentation of competitor

Bursary Rules
VENABLES-LLEWELYN BURSARY 2010
This will be held on
Friday, 19th March 2010 at
Llandrindod Wells High School
Clubs / Individual Members are invited to submit any type of worthwhile project or idea, for consideration for this award.
Type of ideas that could be considered:
• Club Exchange Visit
• Charity Effort
• Club Equipment
• Community Projects
Details of the application to be received in writing no later than Friday, 26th February, 2010 and a member or members will be asked to attend an interview in order to fully explain the idea in mind.
• The value of the 2010 Bursary will be £200.
• The winners of the 2010 Bursary will be required to give a short presentation at the 2010 AGM (Friday 25th June), to explain how the Bursary money was used.
