R U L E S

1. DATE & VENUE – 19th March 2010 at Llandrindod Wells High School

2. ELIGIBILITY - The competitor must be 26 years or under on 1 September 2009 and a full member of a Club affiliated to the NFYFC.

The competitor will be required to produce on the day of the competition their current and signed Membership Card, with suitable photo-ID, or a fine of £5 will be imposed for non-production.

3. PROCEDURE
PART 1 Two weeks prior to the competition, competitors will be required to complete a form provided, which will show details of their YFC activities and submit to the YFC Office. (Special emphasis should be placed on their involvement at Club level).

PART 2 Competitors will be interviewed by a panel of Judges, in an informal atmosphere.

4. OBJECTIVES - The objective of the competition is to select a member who has shown that they are involved in all aspects of the YFC Movement. Judges will be looking for:-

 Involvement at club level for period of membership

 Overall YFC involvement (i.e. club, county or national)

 Specific involvement in activities in previous 12 months (conservation, competitions, recruitment, programming, charity, sport, club officer)

 General commitment to YFC - awareness of fellow members’ interests in YFC and objective view of the future of the Movement

Junior “YFC Member of the Year”

R U L E S

2. ELIGIBILITY - The competitor must be 16 years of age or under on 1 September 2009 and a full member of a Club affiliated to the NFYFC. The competitor will be required to produce on the evening of the competition their current and signed Membership Card, with suitable photo-ID, or a fine of £5 will be imposed.


3. PROCEDURE

PART 1 - PORTFOLIO
Two weeks prior to the Final, The portfolio should be a maximum of 15 sides of A4 – one
page per month depicting their involvement in YFC over the previous twelve months, plus 3
extra pages for their own use , which will show details of their YFC activities at all levels.
The portfolio to include:-

Name, address, age and Club
Background information
Activities within YFC over previous 12 months
School/career aspirations
Activities outside YFC
Photos, collage, drawings and any other medium, may be used within the portfolio

The portfolio will be marked on presentation and content and should raise questions for interview.

PART 2 - INTERVIEW
The Judges, in an informal atmosphere, will interview competitors (there will be no actual interview on a stage). The interview will involve the following points:-

a) Activities over previous twelve months (Club, County, Personal, Team) and should include such activities as Show/Rally entries, variety of competitions, (public speaking, quiz, cookery), sports, skills training, Club Officer post and training, attendance at Club meetings and events, community involvement and activities, fund raising.

b) Knowledge of YFC, e.g. what are the current issues in YFC for young people.

c) General enthusiasm

d) Presentation of competitor

VENABLES-LLEWELYN BURSARY 2010



This will be held on

Llandrindod Wells High School

Clubs / Individual Members are invited to submit any type of worthwhile project or idea, for consideration for this award.

Type of ideas that could be considered:

• Club Exchange Visit

• Charity Effort

• Club Equipment

• Community Projects


Details of the application to be received in writing no later than Friday, 26th February, 2010 and a member or members will be asked to attend an interview in order to fully explain the idea in mind.

• The value of the 2010 Bursary will be £200.

• The winners of the 2010 Bursary will be required to give a short presentation at the 2010 AGM (Friday 25th June), to explain how the Bursary money was used.

Dodge Ball Comp/Games

All Dodge ball games have been cancelled until the weather improves.

~ Darts Competition

For all you budding Phil Taylors’s or Trina Gulliver’s out there, this year’s darts competition will be held at Rhosgoch Golf Club on Thursday 4th February. Reporting for 7pm. Can we have your entries back into the office by no later than Thursday 28th January. Thanks J

~ Drama Comp/One plus 2010

Please could we have cast list/producers by the end of January along with video slips. Could all clubs please bring a raffle prize with them for the draw (no bottles please). Tickets go on sale this Saturday morning 16th Jan 9.30-12.30 from the office (telephone sales only) Good luck with the rehearsals everyone!!!





~ Hedging Competition
The hedging competition has now been rearranged for Sunday 28th February to take place at Dolswydd Farm Penybont. The first training date is on Friday 29th January.10-3pm. Letters have gone out to interested members. Please could I have a £25 returnable deposit to book your place on the training. J

NFYFC AGM – Torquay Friday 23rd April Mon 26th April

We still have some available spaces for the AGM weekend; a non returnable deposit of £50 is required. Money needs to be into us asap. You must need to be a paid up member to go on the trip. A letter will be sent out soon with more information and your second instalment.

~ IMPORTANT
~Membership Card and Entry Forms
From now on the Activities Committee have stated that ‘on no account will anyone be able to compete if they have not got a membership card. Also if clubs are late entering competitions that have deadlines they will not be entered into the competition’.


~ Used stamps

Please can you remember to keep your stamps off your cards etc and send them into the office. They can then be sent off to Hope House. Thanks.

~ Attendance Sheets

Many many thanks to all of you who have returned your attendance records. We are pretty much up to date with the inputting of these stats on the Powys system now. Please could we keep the good work up. If we can have attendances forms from now on into the office monthly (end of) we can keep on top of the data being put on and won’t have such a back log. J
