~ All Wales Ploughing and Hedging
Please find enclosed a schedule for the above. Get your boys to have a go at the fencing competition. It’s much simpler than what we do at Field Day and there is prize money involved. The rules are in the schedule along with an entry form.

~ Wales Drink Drive Multi Media Presentation Competition
Please find in this mailing a letter from Sarah Morris, Powys County Council Senior Road Safety Officer about the above.
Due to the huge success of the Road Safety / Young Farmers "Too Young to Die" Competition within Powys, Road Safety Wales has adopted the format for the Annual Drink Driving Competition. The rules are identical to the ones set by Powys County Council last year, however, the only difference is that the teams have to film their performance and send either a video or DVD in for judging.
The team can consist of up to 6 members and must be aged between 11 and 25. The presentation must be no longer than 3 minutes. The theme must be drink driving and information will be available from the relevant Area Road Safety Officer. There will be prize money for the winning Club within Powys and then additional prize money will be available in the Dyfed-Powys round of the competition.
The final will take place in Caernarfon on Thursday 27th November, therefore, we need to receive all entries by Monday 6th October for judging within Powys.
There's nothing stopping the Too Young to Die entries submitting the same presentation as it's a different judging panel and they wont have seen it before.

This is a grand way of making a bit of money for your club. Brecknock are on board with it. Please discuss this within your club and then let the office know as soon as possible.

~ Best Prime Lamb Producer
This competition is being held at the Winter Fair, 1st & 2nd December 2008. Entries close 10th October. Flyer enclosed.

~ Club Programmes
You need to start to think about your club programme ready for September. County will print them for you. I am able to come and help you sort one out, and if I can’t come, one of the other County Officials will. The success of a good club usually stems from the programme it offers. This year Powys County Council Youth Department want all the club programmes to be included on their database, so you will all have to make a very special effort.

~ YFC Variety Concert
It was decided at a recent Activities meeting that we put on a variety concert during Victorian week, the same as last year. The Committee thought this would be a good shop window for us. It was therefore decided that we would put a concert on Friday 22nd August in the Albert Hall.
It was decided that clubs would provide the raffle prizes and then the clubs would share the raffle money between them. County and the Victorian Festival would share the ticket money.
I am writing to ask if each club could put on about 5 minutes of entertainment for the show. Anybody can go on stage, it doesn’t have to be members of competing age.
Please let me know what your club will be doing by Tuesday 5th August, so as I can put some sort of order together please.
Thanks to Aberedw, Knighton, Rhosgoch and Dolau YFC’s, who have let us know already what they are doing.
Lets hope we can make this a big success. Tickets for the concert are £5 and are available from the YFC office .
